This timepiece is a special Edition dedicated to the Automobile Club de Monaco. Chopard is a proud sponsor & the official timekeeper of the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique since 2002. With a design inspired by the Formula One classic single seaters from the 1970’s, the grey dial and yellow ring evoke speed and precision. The automatic timepiece in titanium and steel features a silver dial with circular grain design guilloche pattern. Precision details include the yellow section with black printed fractions of seconds track, the black section with white printed minute track, and the 5 minute interval Arabic numbers. Other distinguishing features are the Power reserve indicator sub-dial located at the 6 o’clock position, and Magnified Date window located at the 3 o’clock position. The case back bears the “Automobile Club de Monaco” logo and is engraved with “Grand Prix De Monaco Historique”. The Chopard COSC certified movement, beats at 28,800 vph, contains 24 jewels with an approximate Power Reserve of 46 hours. As the finishing touch, the black band in perforated calfskin leather is a nod to the holes in parts of racing cars –meant to keep things as light as possible–and the strap’s yellow stitching also perfectly echos the timepieces’ design codes.
