The Chopard L.U.C Strike One Rose Gold Watch is an exceptional timepiece. The initials L.U.C stand for Louis-Ulysse Chopard, the firm’s founder. L.U.C men’s watches epitomize the highest standard of Swiss watchmaking, as they are entirely manufactured in Chopard’s ateliers in Fleurier, Switzerland. The exclusive, handmade timepieces equipped with beautiful mechanical movements are exemplary of the impeccable precision and design Swiss watch maisons are known for.
The Chopard L.U.C. Strike One is fitted with caliber 96SH. What makes this movement so remarkable is that the bridges are organically shaped, and cup the gold micro-rotor that powers the movement. Geneva stripping and hand chamfered edges round off the presentation of exceptional finish. With a power reserve of to 65 hours, what also makes this model so stunning is the hour-strike complication. Chopard positioned the hammer at the 12 o’clock position on the dial to give an unobstructed view of the gong being struck on the hour.
There is also the beauty of its classical design feel–Strike One’s design code features a prominent sunburst pattern on the center of the dial, combined with a golden grid that marks the hours, and a seconds display at six o’clock. The dial also features an indicator to turn the hour strike function on or off. A whimsical touch, in the form musical note, or the lack of one in the designated window is the indicator. Controlled by a pusher located at ten o’clock, the optimum position ensures ease of access, yet does not interfere with the wearing comfort of the watch. A black leather strap with Tang buckle completes the presentation.
